Every year, July 28th marks World Nature Conservation Day, a global call to acknowledge the importance of preserving our natural environment and safeguarding Earth’s resources for future generations. With climate change, air pollution, and deforestation becoming critical threats, this day reminds us that environmental conservation isn’t optional—it’s essential.
At DNECF (Dianalds New Era Care Foundation), our commitment to this cause is deeply rooted in community-driven greening initiatives that empower everyday citizens to become agents of change.
🌍 What Nature Conservation Means to Us
Nature conservation is more than just protecting trees—it’s about restoring balance in urban ecosystems, promoting cleaner air, and building sustainable habits at the grassroots level. While large-scale policy changes are important, we believe that real impact starts with individuals and homes—and spreads from there.
🌱 Our Two Key Initiatives for a Greener Delhi
At DNECF, our conservation work focuses on two transformative projects: Ghar Ghar Podha and Kootukrishi.
🏡 Ghar Ghar Podha – A Plant in Every Home
With pollution levels in Delhi among the highest in the world, Ghar Ghar Podha is DNECF’s response to a crisis that begins right at our doorsteps. The initiative urges every household to plant and care for at least one air-purifying plant, turning homes into mini green lungs.
Core Objectives:
Reduce Pollution by introducing natural air filters like snake plants, aloe vera, and money plants.
Create Green Spaces within urban homes and communities.
Educate and Empower citizens on the environmental and health benefits of greenery.
Strengthen Community Bonds through shared planting efforts.

How It Works:
Starter Kits are distributed with a potted air-purifying plant, vegetable or herb seeds, and simple care instructions.
Workshops and Training are held to guide participants in home gardening and sustainable plant care.
Community Planting Drives bring neighborhoods together to green parks, common spaces, and residential complexes.
This grassroots campaign is as simple as it is impactful—proving that even a small pot of green can help shift the air quality and mindset of a community.
🌿 Kootukrishi – Rooftops that Grow, Breathe, and Feed
In collaboration with NAAM Delhi, DNECF is also a proud sponsor and implementation partner of the Kootukrishi rooftop farming initiative. This project transforms underused rooftops into vibrant gardens, capable of growing food, purifying air, and inspiring eco-conscious urban living.
DNECF Founder and Director Lata Oommen has led this initiative from the front—physically participating in rooftop installations, mentoring volunteers, and amplifying the campaign’s reach and visibility.
Through this program, DNECF is actively helping:
Improve urban food security
Reduce heat island effects
Encourage community-led sustainability

💚 On This Day, A Call to Action
This World Nature Conservation Day, we invite you to join us in these efforts:
Adopt a plant through Ghar Ghar Podha
Sponsor a rooftop garden through Kootukrishi
Partner with us for CSR collaborations or volunteer programs
Spread the word in your neighborhood, workplace, or school
Together, we can build a Delhi where every home nurtures a plant, and every roof tells a story of sustainability.
🌎 A Greener Tomorrow Starts Today
Nature is not something we inherit to use—it’s something we borrow from future generations. With small but powerful actions, DNECF is working to reclaim space for nature in one of the world’s most urbanized cities.
Let’s not wait for change—let’s plant it.For inquiries, donations, or partnerships, write to us at mailus@dnecf.org.
